Things are getting crazy around here, with packing, finals, life's general craziness, and a huge cross-country move during my last week of class! But I have just kept believing for favor for my husband and I, and our families as this huge adventure begins! I have been praying that we will both "pass" our tests and exams, and that everything goes smoothly with the move and transition, and God spoke to me about "passing" and not "EXCELLING" and I wanted to share it with you.
First of all, John 10:10 (KJV) "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." I usually prefer the New Living Translation because it is easier to understand, but nothing states what this verse says better than this version….
Jesus says He came that we may have life, but He doesn't leave it at that. He says that we might have it more abundantly! Do you know what that means? This means that "just getting by" or "passing" by the world's standards, is not why He came. More ABUNDANT life means that He came so we can live life to the fullest!! When we pray to get through what we're going through, we need to remember that abundant option, and that "If we ask, we shall receive." He will not just pour it over us, if we do not make the effort to believe its true… So remember to live your life to the fullest, for Him, and He will shower you with abundance. Not necessarily material things, although that is included I'm sure, but Abundant happiness, hope, love for others, peace, success, and oh, so much more! Do not settle for anything less than abundance in all these things, because as His children, this is our inheritance!!!!!
